Diwali, also known as the ‘festival of lights’, is one the most important dates in the Hindu calendar. A reaffirmation of hope and renewed commitment to friendship and goodwill, Diwali is a celebration of the simple, and not so simple, joys of life.
Falling on the 17th October this year, London’s most innovative Indian restaurant, The Cinnamon Club and fine-dining Malaysian restaurant, Awana, are serving fantastic festival menus over Diwali, inviting diners to gather their nearest and dearest for lunches and dinners of indulgent revelry.
AWANA
Situated in the heart of Chelsea, Awana’s decadent Diwali menu, showcasing six dishes, is unbelievable value at just £13.50 per person.
Created by executive chef Mark Read, Awana’s Diwali dishes are all beautifully presented with banana leaves. Offerings include deep fried king fish marinated in turmeric, curry powder, ginger and garlic; stir fried corn-fed chicken with spices, curry leaf, oyster sauce and dark soy; curried lentil and root vegetables flavoured with coriander and mint; chilled cucumber salad with onion, chilli, carrot and coconut milk; and stewed spinach with aubergine, potato, curry leaf, birds eye chilli and coconut, served alongside steamed fragrant rice.
Available from 13th - 21st October and at just £13.50 there is no reason not to make the most of this amazing menu.

THE CINNAMON CLUBHoused in the Old Westminster Library, the grandeur of The Cinnamon Club is a wonderful setting in which to honour the pleasure of savouring modern Indian cuisine at the top of its genre. Head chef Hari Nagaraj, under the guidance of executive chef Vivek Singh, has created a luxurious Diwali five-course set menu, showcasing a collection of the restaurant’s finest creations.
From an appetiser of pumpkin and pine nut ravioli in pumpkin and coconut soup; to a starter of rose petal and poppy seekh with yoghurt kebab; main of aubergine steak and tandoori paneer with morel and peas; and second main of grilled cauliflower with tandoori broccoli and chutney pilau, diners will discover why The Cinnamon Club is heralded as one of London’s most exciting and innovative Indian restaurants. A trio of traditional Indian desserts – rice kheer, apple jalebi and caramelised milk dumpling, followed by coffee and petit fours completes the menu, ensuring this is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
