Now open - Fego Caffé at High Street, Putney SW15 is a new restaurant which is set to further excite the already vibrant restaurant scene of this community.
Situated on the ground floor of The Exchange, Putney’s most popular shopping destination in the High Street, Fego Caffé is a continental-style caffé and brasserie, elegant yet informal, where serious food meets casual eating, but at prices which are definitely affordable.
Introducing a new take on ‘dawn to dusk’ dining, Fego Caffé offers delicious and nutritious all-day breakfasts, mid morning and afternoon patisserie with tea or one of Fego’s famous coffees, filled croissants, baguettes and paninis. There are also Fego’s Signature burgers, main course salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizzas served on long wooden boards and tasty pasta dishes. Everything is delightful and delicious, freshly prepared in generous helpings – that’s the Fego Caffé’s philosophy.
‘The way we work, relax and eat has changed’ says Jonathan First of Fego Operations Ltd, the family-run business which owns Fego Caffé. ‘There is a demand for really good food, with a striking presentation, from breakfast to brunch, snacks and full meals, at any time of the day’ he continues. ‘Our dawn to dusk dining meets these needs and modern professionals – from busy people to shoppers and families – can breakfast, lunch or enjoy early supper here, with really good food served in generous portions at a very decent price’ he concludes.
THE DAWN TO DUSK MENU
The temping menu, which includes over 100 items keenly priced from around £5 to around £12, achieves a balance to attract all types of diners. The food is Modern-European, with many favourite classic dishes. Untraditional in its approach, the menu does not offer starters, mains and desserts, but a choice of foods, grouped in different categories, to meet hunger and time demands, and all available at any time of the day.
Try Eggs Benedict from £7.95, the classic combination of toasted muffin with ham, bacon or sausage and poached eggs, topped with hollandaise sauce. Filled croissants, with cream cheese, smoked salmon and roasted lemon at £5.75 make a quick, wholesome and balanced meal at any time of the day, whilst the sandwiches, paninis, baguettes and wraps are all ready to go or to be enjoyed at Fego.
Main course salads are a feast for the eyes and for the palate, richly presented and with ingredients inventively combined – try the Crayfish with avocado and Parma Ham, the Warm Beef or the Sweet Chilli Sesame Crusted Chicken for a different taste sensation. Of note are the home-made Fego Burgers all at £9.25 and all served with Fego’s secret sauce recipes.
The short wine list offers a favourite Prosecco and a choice of Italian wines available by the glass or bottle, and check out the mean concoctions of the very appealing cocktail list.
Families are welcome, and high chairs offered along with a delightful children’s menu, which includes two food items and a drink from an extensive choice at £8.45. Adults, not just children, love the Designer Shakes, the freshly made Fruit Smoothies and the different choice of soft drinks.
