Valentine's Day at Awana Restaurant

This Valentine’s Day, truly spoil your loved one with an indulgent three course menu at Awana.

Loved-up couples will start their romantic meal with a glass of champagne on their arrival. Choose from a mouth watering selection of four starters including Roti Ikan Salmon, a smoked salmon wrapped in Malaysian bread or Udang Garam Lada Hitam, a salt and pepper prawn dusted in cornflour with sea salt, cracked pepper and deep fried. 

Main dishes will include Daging Cha Kuew Teow, a stir fry thick noodle with beef, beans sprouts and kow choi or Sambal Udang, a stir fry fresh tiger prawns in sambal sauce and other mouth-watering fare will be on offer. 

No Valentine’s Day meal would be complete without a tantalising dessert to round it off and Awana have created an exquisite one for its diners: Sorbet Bunga Raya Dan Kek Strawberry Istimewa, a wild hibiscus sorbet with strawberry cheesecake which will satisfy any romantic’s pallet.

And for vegetarians, Awana has also devised a special menu. Awana is London’s finest Malaysian restaurant, located in Chelsea.

The stylish dining room features teakwood, traditional batik silk and luscious dark red leather, creating a contemporary interior reminiscent of a Malaysian plantation house. 

The Valentine’s menu costs £55 per person. Ladies will also be treated to a Malaysian gift on the night, so head to Awana for a truly enchanting and memorable Valentine’s meal.

Awana Christmas Menus Now Available

Acclaimed Malaysian restaurant Awana is to launch two delectable Christmas menus, which will be available from 1st December until 23rd December.

An exotic twist to the classic Christmas feast, Awana has devised menus that showcase some of the restaurant’s best dishes in a celebration of Malaysian cuisine combined with the festive season’s finest ingredients. The menus, one of which will be for vegetarians, will consist of a selection of authentic Malaysian dishes which will leave you well and truly satisfied and at just £35 per person; this is the perfect option for those wanting to celebrate Christmas inexpensively and in true Malaysian style. 

Scrumptious starters consist of dishes such as Ayam Belanda Garam Lada Hitan, a free range turkey dusted in cornflour with sea salt and cracked pepper which is then deep fried, as well as Satay Ayam & Daging, a corn-fed chicken satay & tenderloin beef satay, served with spicy house-made peanut sauce. A perfect start to the party season! 

On offer for mains will be dishes such as Kari Korma Ayan Belanda, a turkey cooked in korma spices and potato curry as well as Sambal Tohu, tofu stir fry in sambal sauce and Sambal Sotong, a squid stir fry with sweet peppers in samba sauce. Finally, to finish off your festive Malaysian feast, Awana has devised a mouth-watering dessert, which will leave you feeling warm inside. Why not indulge in Awana’s delectable Kastard Buah Buahan, a mixed fruit cocktail in custard cream.

Awana Serves Up A Feast To Celebrate Diwali

The Hindu Festival of Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. To mark South Asia’s most popular festival, Chelsea’s fine dining Malaysian restaurant Awana, have created a sumptuous feast guaranteed to light up your evening. 

The menu will consist of seven delectable Malaysian dishes which include Varuval - Stir Fried Lamb with Indian Spices, Curry Leaf, Oyster Sauce and Dark Soy and Min Poriyal - Deep Fried Red Snapper marinated in Turmeric and Curry Powder with Ginger and Garlic. These appetizing dishes can be enjoyed along with Samba - Curried Lentil and Root Vegetables flavoured with Coriander and Mint and Kireh Kadil - Stewed Spinach with Aubergine, Potato, Curry Leaf, Birds Eye Chilli and Coconut. 

Finally round off this delicious feast with the authentic dessert of Payasam – Glass Noodles in Sweet Milk cooked with Raisins and Nuts.

Awana shall certainly show you the light this Diwali, with their Festival of Lights Menu. The Malaysian feast can be enjoyed in the stylish surroundings of teakwood, traditional batik silk and luscious dark red leather, reminiscent of a Malaysian plantation house.

Warm Up With Chilli Crab This Winter at Awana

Acclaimed Malaysian restaurant Awana is proud to unveil their unusual and delicious Chilli Crab dish, available this winter.  Chilli Crab is a regular feature in the hawker markets of Malaysia and Singapore and is hard to find in London.

Chilli Crab is the dish of choice for all seafood lovers and involves whole blue swimmer crabs stir-fried with birds eye chillies, ginger, onion, garlic, fresh tomatoes and brown crab meat. It is served with the traditional Malaysian bread roti canai, perfect for mopping up the smoky, sweet sauce the crab is served in.

This dish can only truly be enjoyed using your fingers to extract the succulent meat in the crab claws, so be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get messy!

This exotic dish will be available for the duration of the autumn, and costs £17 as a main course. Order Awana’s Chilli Crab for a true taste of a Malaysian night market this winter.

Awana Creates New Ramadam Menu

 Awana has created a feast perfect for breaking fast with this Ramadan. They have devised a menu which showcases some of the restaurant’s finest dishes in a celebration of Malaysian cuisine.

The menu will consist of seven wonderful Malaysian dishes which will leave you well and truly satisfied. Delectable starters consist of a Date Korma as well as Roti Canai, a Malaysian bread made from a traditional family recipe and Satay Udang, delicious fresh tiger prawn skewers served with the signature spicy peanut sauce. A perfect Malaysian start to the midnight spread.

Awana will spoil you with the delicious Malaysian mains on offer. Customers can enjoy Kari Ayam, an appetizing corn-fed chicken curry with coconut, potato and snake beans accompanied by Sayur Sambal Goreng, a mix of fried vegetables in sambal sauce and Nasi Putih, a form of steamed rice which is a staple accompaniment to any curry.

Finally, round off the perfect meal and with the mouth-watering dessert of Chendol- pandan pearls with red beans in coconut cream with caramel and shaved ice. Awana’s feast will leave you feeling satisfied and prepare you for another day of fasting.

Mother's Day at Awana

Steal mums away from the kitchen this Mother’s Day and swap the typical Sunday lunch for a deliciously exotic extravaganza at Chelsea’s fine dining Malaysian restaurant, Awana. 

Mums won’t have to lift a finger, except to browse a specially crafted menu courtesy of Executive Chef Mark Read and Malaysian-born Chef Lee Chin Soon, and choose one of two delightful Mother's Day Cocktails.

Starters include grilled queen scallops with lime leaf, lemongrass and chilli; and fragrant chicken and crispy vegetable salad served with spicy tomato sauce and roasted peanuts.

For main course, a new heartwarming light and spicy Mother's Day Special of sliced monkfish, coated in a sweet chilli and tomato sauce and sprinkled with a crumble of curry leaves, is sure to please, alongside other tempting dishes of cumin spiced curried lamb shank with pumpkin, sweet potato and lemongrass; or the tasty vegetarian sautéed organic tofu, mushrooms and pak choy. 

Wonderfully adventurous desserts tease and tempt those with a sweet tooth, ending the meal perfectly. 

Two Mother’s Day Cocktails have been blended for the occasion and are ideal for making a toast. Choose from ‘Mother of Pearl’ - vodka, chambord, dragon fruit, lime juice and fresh mango; and ‘Please Mum’ – a zingy non-alcoholic tipple with grenadine, fresh raspberries and strawberries, lime, orange juice and lemonade.
